Comments from students taking 4 hours prior to reading material.

A firefighter: Enjoyable learning experience, should be required for all firefighting personnel.

A firefighter said: "This is a BGO class, a blinding glimpse of the obvious.

A firefighter: Very informative. I learned more about wildland firefighting in 4 hours than in all my other combined time in classes.

B.C.: I signed up for the Asilomar course and would like to take the 16-hour CPS class.

A firefighter: This is the class we should be learning not the traditional interface info we’re taught from day one. Great class, thanks.

B.C.: Like the concepts. Class filled another hole in my knowledge base. Simple, easy to understand and hopefully to apply.

A firefighter: Worked for the F.S. and CDF and saw many dangerous mistakes made by officers. This class should be required for all officers.

Captain: Makes perfect sense.

Captain: Need more of the same.

Captain: The 4-hour class whets the appetite but Doug has much to cover and goes fast. It's obvious that the 16-hour class covers things more in depth and thoroughly.

A firefighter: Doug is an extremely informative source of wildland fire experience. All FF involved in wildland fires should take this class!! Excellent.

A firefighter: Need more time.

An Engineer: It will be better after I read the material. The longer class could have helped also.

A Captain: Good course, very useful information. Pocket cards are good to keep and take with you on strike team.

No rank: Relating system to actual fire incidents was very helpful.

A Captain: Any fire officer who responds to the brush on strike teams needs this training.

A firefighter: Not only good for officers but should be used in all ranks, very informative and at last gives us some base understanding of where we are.

A firefighter: Combined with other training I've had this class provided more information on how to stay safe. I would have enjoyed attending the longer version.

A Captain: Very good - highly practical in keeping my personnel safe.

Two Captains: Excellent information.

Engineer: The visual aids are the best I have seen.
